I heart Manila

“When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes.  But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls!”  ~Ted Grant

It was a toxic week for Jerdz... working from 7am till 10pm almost everyday in the office and still so many things to do!... so when weekend came, we decided to have a laid back Sunday spending the afternoon by the bay. There was no place in the world I'd rather be at that moment than there at the heart of Manila... with hubby, while munching on our chicken fillet sandwich, sipping our soda and spending the (cheesy haha!) afternoon together.  This place was one of my most photographed places so to have a bit of a twist, I did it in black and white! It's a nice place to relax, and the closest thing to being by the beach. As we walk, the song Marry me by Train is playing in my head... (sigh, such a romantic song)... a nice and laid back song that goes well with the images I took too =)
This is one of the reasons why Jerdz is my favorite shooting buddy... he carries all my stuff and lets me shoot freely =D
he makes it look easy =)

Lola Cris' 90th Birthday

Unlike the previous years, this year's valentine's day was the most memorable and meaningful Jerdz and I had.  We were very much honored to witness a family's milestone as their beloved Lola just turned 90! I cannot begin to tell how astonished I was when I finally met her... she was still very sharp and healthy... and she didn't even wear glasses! I can tell that her family feels very blessed having her.
I woke up early that morning... the weather was quite cool.  We still managed to pass by the church before heading to the venue.  Lola Cris was the first one to arrive... as minutes pass, guests started to pour in. Before we knew it, the event came to an end. It was a nice afternoon, everybody was warm and friendly.  After the shoot, we strolled a bit around the compound and bought some plants before going home -- Valentine's gift for mom and dad =)

In Pursuit of Knowledge

I had a blast with our wedding workshop this week!  It was held at one of my most favorite places in Manila, Intramuros. It was raining on the first day in the afternoon... the second day's weather was quite ok. =)  We had the honor of having Mr. Jomel Gregorio and Mr. Joe Galian as our main speakers/ professors. We learned a lot... they tried to feed us as much information to equip us in the "battlefield".  I was truly inspired by the stories told and the experiences they have shared....  though I realized that I still have a lot to learn... but like all great artists, i have to take things one step at a time.
The workshop was fun! I met a lot of talented people (my classmates hehe) and I hope to see these guys again! =)

And now, for some wedding photos! =)

The photo below won as the People's Choice Award (thanks classmates) and it also landed
second place for the Best Wedding Ceremony Photo! =D

E-Session: Vince + Tonette

After being re-scheduled due to the unfriendly and unpredictable weather, Vince and Tonette's engagement shoot finally pushed through! We had lots of fun shooting with them along with their friends Felice, Vic and Mark -- who acted as the ultimate support group of the e-session! Felice also did Tonette's hair and make-up, and she also huffed and puffed each and every single balloon! (ok, i was kidding... she used a balloon pump haha!)
Vince is a bit shy and took a little while before he finally warmed up to the camera =)... while Tonette never gets tired of flashing those smiles.
