Destination E-Session: Jay & Michelle

She is in the field of medicine and he is in the field of business administration yet they found each other and was able to surpass a long distance relationship for 4 years! Jay met Michelle through his sister who happens to be her friend and classmate… They already knew each other way back in high school. They lost contact for quite a long time but their paths crossed again... little did they know that they were destined for each other. Theirs is a living proof that love can be found where you least expect it.

It had been raining the week before our scheduled e-session in Corregidor.  But if I were to describe the sun that day, he would look like a big happy yellow smiley with sun rays all around =). We joined the guided tour in the morning and had the e-session in the afternoon until sunset.  I just love their genuine smiles and how they interact with each other. Well, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed the shoot with them. Oh, and while looking at the photos, please listen to THIS song… I think they go well together =)

Better days lie ahead

If I had one wish, I'd wish for endless summer days.

It was a rainy week in the wet streets of Manila. Making my way through the flood deep puddles of water is my least favorite thing to do. So, if i had one wish today, it would be to feel another summer day.  A day where I can wear my fave white sneakers without having to worry about it getting muddied XD

Today, Jerdz and I are celebrating our 100th monthsary...  yup, even after being married, we still greet each other on our monthsary... wierd, I know.  But I'm very thankful that despite my craziness, he sticks it out with me.  He is my partner, my best friend and my "person" (as Christina of Grey's Anatomy would put it).  It was a summer day, our first monthsary... so i'm posting this photo to remind me that despite the rain, better days lie ahead.

Have a nice day to all! =)

Wedding Fever

I can't begin to tell how ecstatic I was yesterday! I met Mr. Jomel Gregorio and Mr. Joe Galian once again yesterday, but this time, not as wedding photography instructors, but as a part of their team! I feel so blessed, thankful and honored that i was given a chance to work with them. It was an amazing experience topped with awesomeness =D
When I received a message from Mr. Jomel to try to be his backup, i was as happy as a child who received a bicycle on Christmas day! As usual, before each shoot, I made some mental notes on what not to forget and made some pre-visualizations.  You know, there are times when I even think that I'm obsessed with wedding photography.  Just last week, in the middle of all this, when I took a bath and washed some handkerchiefs... left it for a while and when I came back and looked at the pail, I saw this incredible bride and groom soap sud formation! Call me crazy but it really looks like it. Here, see for yourself
It's a phenomenon, don't you think? The bride is even holding a bouquet! =)

Independence Day 2011

True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what's right. ~Brigham Young

Nine years ago, when I took a job in another city, I moved out of our house and rented an apartment.  I was a fresh graduate from the University, full of idealism and eagerness.  At that time I was thinking, this is it, i will finally experience how it is to be independent. I have learned a lot in those years.  Living alone made me realize life's realities and how important are the choices that we make because it will define who we are.  I realized the value of my family, I learned that no matter how independent we think we are, we are still interdependent to the ones we love.

I am feeling nationalistic and all today as I post this photo of my pin flag in commemoration for the 113th Independence day of the Philippines!  I took it out of my pin collection (yes, I have a pin collection which I absolutely love) and which I have to return this to it's exact same place afterwards hehehe...Well, happy independence day to all! Destination Wedding: Jake + JM

04.29.11
Transfiguration Chapel  |  Hotel Dominique

It was a nice day in Tagaytay… the weather was quite cool that early morning. The ceremony which will take place in Caleruega will start at 9am. JM started preparing as early as 4am… the sky was pitch black, but it did not take long till we saw the sunrise. I just heart the DIY stuff that they did for their wedding!  The invitations, table numbers, the cord and embellishments of the candles and matches… I could go on and on! The wedding was indeed a labor of love.  I felt the warmth of their family and friends who helped them make this day a truly special and wonderful day.  I felt so blessed that I was given a chance to witness and document their love and their union.  I must admit that I got a bit teary eyed in some parts of the ceremony (but don’t think I’m sappy okay? Hahaha!)… I guess the time that we spent bonding with them and experiencing their genuine kindness made them dear to us. So, here are the photos =D
I also would like to thank the Cinemaworks Team (Video) and J Lucas Reyes' Team (Main Photo) for being nice... we enjoyed working with you guys =)

The Days of Holy Week

The alarm gently buzzed at 4:00 in the morning on Good Friday and knew it was time to get prepared for a long walk! Jerdz and I ate breakfast (an instant beef noodle soup and coffee, just enough to keep us going till we reach our destination)... took a shower and left at 6am for our yearly Visita Iglesia.  We did our normal route starting from Blumentritt and ends in Intramuros... we noticed that unlike the past years, there are more people doing "the walk" that we almost bump into each other. Quiapo church was jampacked with people as always!  It seems like the streets of Manila was quiet-er in the past years' Good Friday than this year, but it's ok. We finished faster this time... we did it in 3.5 hrs! After the long walk, we grabbed some snacks in the streets of Intramuros.

Sweet Summer

"From small beginnings come great things" --Proverb

It's here!  It's summer! It is officially summer, beginning last week... and boy, i can really feel the hot weather! But it's okay, summer is still one of my favorite times of the year (the other one is Christmas of course). There is just something about it that makes me feel more alive. I was telling my husband yesterday how thrilled I am, and that I feel that I'm wierd because for me, summer (like Christmas) has a certain scent.  Is it just me? Oh well... and did I mention that I love summer? In this very short post alone I wrote the word summer eight times already (and I bet you're counting it right now) =)

I caught myself last weekend looking for tank tops in my closet trying to prepare for the summer activities ahead... there's the yearly procession and the visita iglesia with my favorite person, Jerdz.... and maybe some family get-together =D This month, we will be covering Jake and JM's  destination wedding too... and I'm sooo excited, if not overexcited!!! More updates coming soon! =) Pin It
